Bouncy Castles – The Perfect Birthday Party Solution for Edmonton Party Themes

Hi, this is Yannick from The Big Bounce Theory. Today we’re gonna talk about bounce castles, why this is the perfect choice for birthday party. So we have a, a quick quote here for you today from Henry Ford and said, if I had asked people what they wanted, they would’ve said faster horses. Here’s a fun fact for you today. The first bouncy house was designed in 1959 by an electrical engineer named John Scurlock in Louisiana. USA. John actually stumbled on his invention when he was creating an inflatable cover for a project and saw his children jumping on it and having so much fun. So he thought, Hey, let’s design a number of inflatable structure, you know, including domes and, you know, tans signs and stuff like that. So that’s where it all started.

Bouncy Castles Popular at Birthday Parties

There’s a number of reasons why people enjoy bounce castles. I would say the main ones is mostly it keeps the kids busy at birthday parties. This is like so important. People don’t want to have to deal with kids for hours. You know, when you have 15, 20 kids at the same place, you need to find something to keep them busy. And I would say this is the main part as to why people enjoy bounce castle so much. And there’s also, you know, a few different things. Like, I’m, I’m an adult, but I still love, you know, jumping on castles and going down the slides and stuff. It just, it’s fun. I don’t know, it’s, it’s awesome. It varies from time to time. I would say the average time of a rental is about four hours. Usually kids have lots of fun on it for four hours, and after that they might get a little tired of it. Some other kids might actually want to keep it longer. But I would say the average rental time is four hours and usually it’s plenty of time for everyone to have a chance at it and have lots of fun on it. There is no limit, although the only limit really there is, is the size of your backyard or your front yard. It varies a lot. Some people have a smaller yard, some people have a bigger one. It’s also a lot easier to set up on grass if you have grass area, because you can secure the unit down a lot better than on concrete. So it really depends on the size of bacteria you have. So we can have a, a, a taller combo. You could have a combo or like a bigger obstacle course depending on how much room you have. Absolutely. There definitely is water rights. There’s a, a ton of them. We’re not as strong here in Canada with water rides because, you know, it’s a little cold for too long during the, the, the year. But we do provide some water rides, yes, mostly our combos, larger combos that have a slide on it or a double slide. And it comes with a pool landing at the bottom. The water doesn’t stay there, it just drains out. But the, the slide itself actually stays wet and it just very enjoyable and very fun.

Bouncy Castles Are Fun For All Ages

There is no age limit. It just depends on which unit you’re looking to book. If you are taking a toddler combo, I would recommend probably up to six years old. If you’re taking a medium to large size combo. I would say basically anything from two, from two until adult age it, you will be able to jump on it. As an adult, there’s not a problem there. And for obstacle, of course, it’s all age. Maybe not as young, I guess, because, you know, if you want to go up the, the climbing wall, they, they’re a little bit bigger than the, the tub combos, so you’re gonna want a longer reach with your ends and stuff. But yeah, I’d say all ages allowed on any bounce castle that you, you might see. It just depends on the size of the unit. Some of them does. If you keep it there for a longer period of time, it might, yes. So we’re talking about a couple days, three days, especially if it rains and doesn’t get water where the castle was because, you know, it was set up there it might wrap your lawn, not necessarily burning it, but it’ll just kinda, it’ll, it’ll kill it basically. So it’ll just kinda, it breaks all the roots of the, the grass and it just doesn’t grow as fast for the rest of the season. But for a day rental, there’s no worry there. It will grow. It’ll, it’ll stay very healthy. That’s not a problem to worry about. Depends what damage is. If you’re gonna put a knife on it in it, every bounce castle is gonna be very fragile to you. If you’re talking about having, you know, sharp objects in your pocket or a toy usually it’s pretty good. You just gotta be careful with what you bring on your, on you in the castle. Always recommended. Not actually not recommended. It’s mandatory to not have any juries or any suckers with you and in the bounce castle for one of those reasons. And also for choking hazard. And yeah, just play normal. Don’t bring anything that looks sharp to you and you’ll be all good to go.

Different Sizes of Bouncy Houses for All Needs

So grownups can, can’t technically jump on the toddlers unit. Just they’re made smaller so they don’t hold as much air. This reason makes it that you can’t hold as much weight on the unit. So for that reason, I would have to say no, an adult can’t jump on it. Now if you have to go get your kid in the bounce castle ’cause he’s scared and he doesn’t want to to go out for some reason, absolutely, you can definitely go on it just one another at a time. Go get it and then yes, you’ll be all good to go. Set up and take down varies from time to time. I would say a taller unit about, you know, 15 by 15 would take on average about 15 to 20 minutes to set up and take down a combo. It depends also on the size at some average, about 20 to 25 minutes and an obstacle course. We have some that are, you know, 200 feet long, which includes six pieces together. So those can take up to two hours to set up and take down.
